The Open Platform workshop had a fantastic first day. All the workshops were full and participants were eagerly working away. Interesting explorations are underway across the trainings and workshops, with participants exploring constraint-generated models (responding to environmental, structural and fabrication concerns), mathematical surfaces and constructions, and creating interfaces for collaboration between design disciplines.
The evening presentations in the grand Oosterre room featured presenters from TU Delft, Buro Happold, and Form Foundation.

The Application process for the SmartGeometry Fall Event: Open Platform, is now closed. Those who applied will be notified of acceptance on November 18th.
We have created a page devoted to the event here:

The page currently contains a proposed schedule for training in GenerativeComponents and Grasshopper. New information will be posted regularly.

A 3-day Workshop at TU Delft
27th-29th November
This event will complement SmartGeometry's annual workshop and conference event, bringing many of SmartGeometry's experienced tutors to guide participants in exploring computational design through a variety of technologies.
The planning for SG 2010 is well advanced and we expect to announce the venue and date very shortly. Most likely it will be in southern Europe and the dates will likely be 19-24th March 2010.
This web site will open for applications to the workshop as soon as we make the announcement of the venue and the firm dates.
The SmartGeometry 2009 Alumni Summit and Conference Day has begun in San Francisco. Both days are filled with a wide range of speakers showcasing the latest projects and conceptual thinking in the arena of design computation.
Click on the links below to view the agenda for each day.
We look forward to seeing you here!
